Support your endocrine metabolic health with CINNAMON

We all know the pleasant aroma of cinnamon, since childhood we associate it with delicious desserts but less known are the various and powerful therapeutic qualities of this spice that in its perfect presentation as essential oil we can benefit from to optimize our welfare.

The essential oil of cinnamon is made from the bark of a tree native to Sri Lanka. Used since ancient times, it has always had great importance in medicine in the Far East.

Great qualities and beneficial properties

Among its main natural components are various aldehydes, phenols and sesquiterpenes. When we enumerate its many properties - certified by modern scientific research – it's when we understand why it was an ingredient for most therapeutic formulations in ancient China.

Cinnamon oil has antioxidant antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, anti-infective, antiviral and antiparasitic properties. It is also anti-inflammatory, astringent, antispasmodic, antidepressant and a stimulant of circulation, libido and the immune system.

The greatest benefits of cinnamon for your health

One of the most interesting and exciting benefits of cinnamon oil has to do with helping to prevent, avoid or combat problems of our metabolism and our endocrine system.

The nutritional support of cinnamon - always alongside the physician treatment - can be helpful especially if we have a family history, or if we have already started to show problems associated with Metabolic Syndrome (set of symptoms that increase the risk of heart disease or diabetes, such as hypertension, low "good" cholesterol levels, high levels of sugar and blood triglycerides plus excess of fat around the waist), obesity or diabetes.

We have also mentioned its antibacterial, antifungal and other various pathogens, and if we add qualities to stimulate the functioning of our immune system, we find that you can always turn to the essential oil of cinnamon to protect yourself and your family from environmental threats. It is important to add that the nutritional qualities of cinnamon are particularly effective to help fight pathogens that attack the respiratory tract.

This oil is also very useful when there's joint discomfort caused by cold and when used topically it produces beneficial warming. And finally, another ancestral and appreciated use of cinnamon is as an aphrodisiac, being particularly suitable to increase libido in men.

Start taking advantage of this great Essential Oil!

* It is wonderful oil but since it is very strong, we'll start by telling you to take some precautions. Never use in children under 6. Avoid in people suffering from peptic ulcers. Before using it topically it should always be diluted in vegetable carrier oil, such as coconut. For aromatic use you should avoid inhaling it directly from the bottle or from the diffuser outlet because it can burn your nostrils.

* To support the health of your endocrine system and to raise your defenses, cinnamon therapeutic-grade essential oil is excellent when used internally. One or two drops are enough and you can add it to your daily healthy smoothie; have it diluted in 2 teaspoons of any other drink or maximize the absorption by placing them in a capsule to take with water.

* Taking 1 or 2 daily drops will help reduce cravings, especially sugar and carbohydrates. Additionally, it will help keeping your healthy blood pressure. But for both purposes, the aromatic use - diffusing oil in the air - is also very effective.

* The aromatic use is also very useful (especially when facing environmental or seasonal threats), when we want to help protect our respiratory system but it also helps shore up the endocrine-metabolic health. And of course, placing cinnamon oil in an environmental diffuser is excellent to exploit its aphrodisiac properties.

* It is ideal for massaging aching joints, especially when it is caused by cold weather.

* For a sore throat or to prevent colds, gargle with 1 drop diluted in 2 ounces of water or as a tea, adding 1 drop to hot water or tea and drinking it slowly.

* In your kitchen you can always use it instead of cinnamon powder, but remember that its flavor is stronger, so it is advisable to add it in small amounts, using a stick for better control.
